RADIATION THERAPY SIDE EFFECTS

Modern treatment of cancer often involves radiation therapy. While physicians are careful to minimize damage to healthy tissue, effective tumor destruction may result in unintended, unpredictible, and unavoidable injuries. Often, these radiation injury symptoms don't occur until months, years, or even decades after successful treatment of the cancer. Frequently they improve with HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY.

THIS AMA AND FDA APPROVED TREATMENT
FOR RADIATION INJURY IS NOW AVAILABLE
IN PALM HARBOR, FLORIDA.

Over the past 10 years, Allan M. Spiegel, M.D., has successfully treated many patients after their cancer required radiation therapy.

Radiation can be effective for treatment of PROSTATE, RECTAL, CERVICAL, BLADDER, HEAD, NECK, and BRAIN tumors, however, once the cancer is cured, patients can suffer numerous painful and often debilitating disorders resulting from the radiation. These are unresponsive to most treatments--except HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY.

HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY, a treatment providing 100% oxygen under pressure, has been used to minimize and reverse blood vessel and supportive tissue swelling and damage. HBOT reduces the formation of scar tissue and promotes the formation of new capillaries into irradiated tissues. When the proper levels of oxygen and nutrients are delivered, tissues heal more effectively, and necrosis (tissue death) can be avoided.

PROSTATE and RECTAL cancer radiation can cause diarrhea, bleeding, rectal pain, and incontinence. HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY improves symptoms in 50 to 60 percent of patients, sometimes completely.

CERVICAL and BLADDER cancer radiation can cause severe pain and bleeding due to radiation cystitis (inflammation of the bladder). This AMA approved treatment has been 75 percent successful in resolving these symptoms.

Radiation to the HEAD, ORAL, and NECK and cause bone, skin, and oral tissue damage. Open wounds, oral ulcers, the potential for hemorrhage (bleeding), and pain on swallowing are side effects radiation-treated patients can suffer. Hyperbaric oxygen is 83 percent successful in improving symptoms for these patients.

Radiation treatment of the BRAIN can result in memory loss, impaired thinking ability (cognition), reduced sexual desire, hormonal changes. personality disturbances, sleep disruption, nausea, unsteadiness, and visual changes. These effects often show up months or years after radiation treatment. The success rate in halting the progression of, or reversing, brain damage was approximately 90 percent.

Don't suffer with chronic pain and discomfort resulting from your radiation treatment. Make an appointment today to discuss what hyperbaric oxygen can do for you.
